I woke up today CERTAIN that it was Saturday.
I only have a hazy memory. I was in bed, alarms going off and hitting snooze buttons. It already felt light outside, but I don’t know if it really was. I was vaguely aware of Preston starting to shift as though he’d be getting up soon, and in my half-asleep state I thought he had some kind of plans that involved him getting up and out the door early this Saturday morning (which is not all that unusual for him), and I’d just stay in bed and relax longer…
And then reality set in.
But somehow despite the disappointment, I actually hopped out of bed rather awake and energetically! I made myself coffee, got ready quickly, and played some music to perk me up!
Actually, that’s kind of a lie. I played some music because Preston said something this morning that made me start singing “Part of Your World” from the Little Mermaid, but unlike most women my age I know so few of the lyrics that it immediately became an annoying round of “I want to be where the people are… something, something. blah blah yada…” and had to turn something else on to make myself stop.
Anyhow. I dropped a few drops of my newest uplifting essential oil blend into my diffuser for a super happy morning! It’s been on my list to post so I decided to snag a few photos and get it up right away!
All in all, a pretty good way to cheer myself up from the letdown that it is NOT Saturday and gear myself up for another two workdays before it really is the weekend 😉
Here’s my little recipe for an uplifting essential oil blend, perfect for your next disappointment. Er, I mean, the next time you could use an extra boost 😉
uplifting essential oil blend
16 drops bergamot
10 drops eucalyptus
10 drops vetiver
6 drops sweet orange
12 drops lemongrass
Combine all oils into a little tupperware (or these cute cobalt oil bottles!) Once combined, add about 4-5 drops to your oil diffuser. You could also put a few in a reed diffuser or bubble bath!
