OOF, guys. I had a tough day.
I had been totally procrastinating picking my goals for this post because this one really crept up on me. Little vacay + not-so-little illness made September FLY. Holy moly.
I had no goals even on my radar and couldn’t even tell you what my goals were for September because I was so focused on other things 😉
And then today – when I was supposed to pick some goals and post this during lunch – I had the most frustrating morning, incredibly obnoxious and stressful work stuff, and PMS like MAD. (Bad combo.) Instead of setting goals and working on my blog at lunch, I drove the couple minutes to the river, walked down the steep dirt-packed bank in my (fortunately casual day) work attire with my huge sparkly purse and coffee tumbler, and just sat in the dirt and stared at the river. And made an incredibly whiny call to my mom.
So when I remembered I wanted to post this today, the only thing I could think was: October’s goal should be to do NOTHING but RELAX.
I am burnt out, barely recovered from my crazy illness (but still coughing!), nearly done with my half marathon training, coming off an awesome-but-insanely-busy summer, and dealing with some serious stress at work (not like that’s new.)
October’s SINGLE little goal?
Make time for me. Time for self care. Time for meditation, long baths, walks, lunch hours spent staring at the river, and nights on the couch with my love. Without tracking anything. Just do what feels right for me and my mental health in the moment.
That’s all I got this month.
