Heck yeah, guys, it’s time to talk essential oils for PMS relief.
When I was first thinking about making aromatherapy candles (I was rambling about that yesterday, I made a nice big list of “issues” that I would make candles to help with. PMS relief quickly made the list.
Of course, the craft fair that I did yesterday was hosted by the Davis Senior Center, so it certainly occurred to me that PMS relief may not be the best option for that crowd. But it’s probably my FAVORITE of the oil blends I made, and I love the novelty of it. So I decided to make it anyway.
Preston was NOT a fan of that idea. He thought it was a pretty bad idea for a senior center. Of course, he didn’t really make that clear until a few minutes into the craft fair, after a couple people walked by and laughed at it and kept going. I told him to shut it and started doubting myself…
But you know what? Everyone laughed at it. Some in a “laugh as they walk by” way, but a lot of people laughed and came to chat with us. And I told them about my products, made jokes, and made some sales. Preston told a bunch of folks that it helped with HIS PMS, and I had a few ladies ask if I would change the label on it to say “CHILL OUT” instead of “PMS Relief” so they could give it to their hubbies 😀
And you know what else? It was the first scent to sell out at the fair. (I think a lot of daughters and granddaughters are getting PMS Relief candles for Christmas….)
The blend I used is at the bottom of this post, but there are a TON of essential oils for PMS relief that you can choose from. Here are a few lists of ideas!
(*NOTE: The recipe for those bath bombs in the photos is coming soon!!!)
I expect this might be one of the most popular uses for essential oils for PMS relief. Below are essential oils that are awesome to use in a diffuser or in a bath so you inhale fantastic irritability-relieving oils.
Seems this is less common than irritability, but I personally am a WEEPY lady when I’m PMS-ing. These oils are also wonderful inhaled – and if you get the beautiful combo of sadness and irritability like yours truly, feel free to combine these oils with the ones above for ultimate relief.
Now it’s time for a topical solution for those cramps! The following oils would be great in a bath OR diluted in a carrier oil and rubbed directly on your abdomen to relieve those cramps.
My Favorite Combo of Essential Oils for PMS Relief
3 parts lavender
3 parts bergamot
1 part rose
I LOVE the smell of this recipe – the rose is predominant, but the lavender and bergamot add fantastic hints of fresher notes to the rose oil. It was tough choosing between that recipe and the same thing but with 3 parts of clary sage added as well. I highly recommend that one too. 🙂
While this a great combo of essential oils for PMS relief, it will really help with any irritability.
