When I was making candle scents for my craft fair last month, I wanted to throw in one holiday candle that was just for FUN. So I experimented with my essential oils until I got a blend that smelled very Christmas tree-like. Fir needle with a hint of peppermint and a bit of nutmeg. Holiday season smell!!!
Well, I thought I’d look up what the heck the oils I used can do for someone, and HOLY CRAPPERS was I thrilled to find out that they are all good for cough, cold, and respiratory issues!
What the WHAT?! Like, is that a miraculous coincidence? Or some kind of biological awesomeness where the plants that are predominant in the winter are exactly what humans need in the winter? Y’know what I’m saying? Like, science?
Anyhow. I was super thrilled about that. So here’s my winter blend!
Cough and Cold Essential Oil Blend
AKA MY CHRISTMAS TREE BLEND!
20 drops fir needle essential oil
5 drops nutmeg essential
1 drop peppermint essential oil
Combine all oils in a small container. Use a few drops in a diffuser, or make DIY soy wax candles with it!
