This five minute leg + ab HIIT workout will burn calories FAST, boost your metabolism, and help you burn more calories for the rest of the day!
It has only been about a million years since I’ve shared a workout with y’all! But I’m BACK. With not just another workout (finally), but another VIDEO!
I’m on a roll.
I really wish the sound on the intro to this video was better buuuut I screwed it up and there’s only so much fixing it. And by “fixing” it, I mean turning the volume up and ignoring the ambient noise 😉
But I’m really excited to share this workout with you because it has been SUCH an awesome little quick workout to squeeze in when I have time. Just an extra calorie burn!
HIIT workouts (high intensity interval training) burn more calories in a short amount of time than almost anything else! Fifteen minutes doing HIIT burns more calories than an HOUR of steady state jogging. Yuuup. Plus HIIT workouts leave you burning more calories for the next roughly 24 HOURS than you otherwise would.
So basically… they’re freaking awesome.
That’s why they burn so much. 😉
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that I was getting a bit addicted to a HIIT workout on my stairs (oh wait, I totally think I mentioned that here as well…) for awhile. Well I really miss it, but my stairs just get an absolute BEATING from the sun in the afternoons. Like, until 7 pm.
So this workout is my replacement for my stairs obsession until it cools down a little more. Both have the same effect on me so I know it’s working: I feel like I miiiight hyperventilate and like I’ll definitely puke 😉
Don’t worry, neither workout has actually made me puke yet.
So here’s the workout video! I’ll list the full workout below 🙂
- Perform first exercise for 30 seconds, then rest 30 seconds. Move on to second exercise for 30 seconds, then rest 30 seconds. Repeat that until you’ve completed each exercise once.
- Repeat the full five minute exercise one or two more times for a full workout.
- squat jumps
- bicycle crunches
- jumping jacks
- mountain climbers
