questioning whether to post such a lighthearted and frivolous list today in the middle of a vile and depressing week.
writing about six versions of this post because I can’t decide how serious to get.
deciding it’s important and helpful to appreciate the small joys in life that can’t be brought down by racism and hatred.
SO. On that note…
feeling extra grateful for small joys, fun blogs, and beer this week. 😉
trying to stay positive.
laughing (to avoid crying) when a client left a meeting with me by saying “JEEZ, you must just go home everyday and have the biggest glass of wine at night!” and thinking that’s all too real.
drinking more beer than wine though (just bought a PINE beer this week and YUM.)
getting excited for fall already! Thus pine beer. Also I bought fall Bath & Body Works candles 😀
planning a capsule wardrobe for the fall! I know I’m like WAY behind on this. And I’m not really following the “rules” but I pared way down and planned the three (and ONLY three) very specific items I’m allowed to buy for this next season…
ordering one of those three items already.
catching up on my scrapbook lately, and loving it. I almost don’t want to catch up because I like having so much to do.
looking forward to the solar eclipse on Monday!
giving up my search for a bunch of solar eclipse glasses (but my mom got a couple extra pairs, so I’ll have one! I just wanted more to share.)
reading too many things! I knew my library ebook requests would all roll in at once, and it’s starting. I’ve got 3 books out right now, and I’m the second or third hold on WAY TOO MANY. Putting my literature major fast-reading skills to the test…
eating really simple meals the last couple weeks.
enjoying how much faster it makes kitchen clean-up. 😉
waiting for vacay! I’ve never booked a vacation this far in advance (because I’ve never gone on such a big and exciting trip!) and the anticipation is equally thrilling and tiring. okay, it’s way more thrilling than tiring!!!
going camping next weekend, and
choosing a couple more campgrounds to squeeze in before the weather gets cold.
buying lipstick for the cause. (and that box totally needs to be broken down and turned into a scrapbook card.)
stashing some extras away for stocking stuffers! Yes, already. I like to be done shopping by Black Friday so I can just enjoy the holiday season. I already have a little horde of stocking stuffers.
wishing for more peace in the world, and
sending love and good vibes to all of you. I hope you can find some peace and joy in everyday life despite a week when it feels like negativity and hatred are too powerful.
