Happy Friday, friends!!! I am SO happy this week is over. It was a long, tough weekend last weekend followed by a long, tough week. BLERGH.
But it’s over and now it’s December (!!!) and I’m feeling festive! I think I’m going to last-minute attempt Blogmas again this year (a blog post everyday from today through Christmas!)
Since I haven’t done a recap since I got back from vacation, I decided to start with a random un-ordered recap post. I gathered a bunch of pictures from my phone, and in no particular order here’s what’s been up….
I feel like it took SO LONG to really feel like fall this year. But it’s finally here and it’s glorious!
My coworker went a little crazy decorating my office for me when I got back! There were streamers hanging from the ceilings, bridal-decorated cupcakes, and so many fun little details all over the place.
I’m pretty sure this was from right after we got back from our trip. Nedders was feeling a bit needy:
I talk about Apple Hill every year because it is one of my FAVORITE ways to celebrate fall. It’s an area between Sac and Tahoe with loads of orchards where you can find all the apple desserts, pumpkin patches, and wine you can ask for 😉
I also had an awesome brunch with girlfriends to toast to my engagement, but the only pictures I wound up getting that day were our drinks 😉
Another shot of the needy pets after we returned from vacay…
I made a new fall wreath this year and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
I had to include this because it was just one of the worst things Preston and I have ever done 😂 And I have to say, Instagram is totally to blame. This was advertised on Instagram and it looked SO FUN on the posts I saw. Beautiful lit-up pumpkins in all kinds of designs. So I figured we’d go… and oh, man. It was the worst low-budget event I’ve ever been to. Preston and I were there for maybe 15 minutes before we saw everything and had enough!
This was a better night out… our first date night engaged!
Sweet cat found himself some fun packaging…
We went off to Bodega Bay for a super short trip to scope out a couple places we were considering getting married. Such a fun quick trip – chowder, taffy, wedding venues, and a quick nature walk.
Preston and I went to Pinnacles National Park last month, and it was absolutely amazing. I only learned of its existence a few months ago even though it’s only a three hour drive away. The rock formations are INCREDIBLE, there are awesome caves you can hike through (except “hike” genuinely becomes “crawl” at some places), and we had a blast.
I packed my favorite new drink of the season (which I tried on our trip to Apple Hill): sweet white wine (they used apple wine in Apple Hill!) and apple cider heated with mulling spices. SO GOOD. And perfect for camping, too 🙂 I have been testing wines that are more widely available and have an awesome favorite! So I’ll post that this month!
A friend and I had an awesome Friday night of junk food and binge-watching Mindhunter. Though I have to say… I do NOT understand the hype. I was not impressed at all. We watched 7 episodes that night (yeah, serious bingeing!) and I have no interest in watching the final episode.
Nedders just had his first puppychino! To say he was a fan would be an understatement.
These need no explanation… 😍
Preston and I took my grandma to her favorite winery where they have a “Bottle Your Own Wine” event a few times a year. We bottled a case of wine to serve at our wedding!
I’m annoyed with myself for not taking more pictures of Friendsgiving this year. We decided to keep it easy because I was overwhelmed and planned last minute, so we just ordered Chinese food. Which just might stick… it was FUN. Then just chilled and played some games.
My Thanksgiving spread! Yes, I ate almost all of that. I even went back for one final bite each of stuffing and mashed potatoes because they were GOOD. Though I was in a major food coma from all the carbs 😉 I was supposed to bring my own source of protein to Preston’s family since they’re all turkey eaters, but I forgot. Also forgot that it’s usually a good idea to bring more veggies than most people serve at Thanksgiving so a few steamed carrots carried my nutritional intake for the night hahaha. NO regrets.
The only picture I got of me and Preston on Thanksgiving, his face was glued to video games and I was clearly being annoying/annoyed and trying to get his attention. So I’ll save that one and share him and Ned playingtug o’ war… sorta.
P and I took Ned and my parents for a walk by the river.
We did Thanksgiving a few days later with my family. I didn’t get a good picture of the food! Shame. I know. I did take some good pictures of the Brussels sprouts dish I made which I’m going to post soon. They turned out reaaaaally good. Did get a decent shot of my parents with my niece and nephew!
I was a bad dog mom and forgot to celebrate Nedder’s birthday at the beginning of last month, so I picked up a belated birthday treat for him. 🙂 We celebrate the day we got him as his birthday – we’ve had him for 2 years! And now he’s 4 years old.
Well that turned out WAY longer than I expected! Sorry for the overload!
LOVE YOU, FRIENDS!
