Picking up from my last personal recap post, here’s what I’ve been up to via the camera roll. (Though I’m keeping the holidays to a minimum since they feel SO OVER. Hahah.)
Preston, my sis, bro-in-law, and I all went to see Transiberian Orchestra this year and it was so much fun!
As you know because I feel like I’ve mentioned it a thousand times, I was sick for so much of December. I got sick for just a few days in the beginning of the month, and then reaallllly sick for the last couple weeks. It was super rotten. P and I had planned to go cut down our own Christmas tree this year, but I was just not up for it so we stopped at a lot right by our Trader Joe’s after buying groceries. And I was THRILLED with the tree we got. We paid far more than I would normally pay for a tree, but I prioritized ease that day. And our tree was beautiful and it’s STILL UP (yeah I know). We stopped watering it last weekend because we meant to take it down last weekend and just didn’t get to it. Finally took it down last night and it was still in stellar shape!
Sweet cat is still having weird eye issues (still ongoing.) And he’s been looking for new hiding places to avoid all the drops and creams he’s needed.
I already shared about our Star Wars marathon, but I didn’t share Ned’s sweet Jedi costume.
We booked our honeymoon! Hawaii, here we come 😀
Also booked a pizza oven caterer for our wedding! They were at one of our favorite breweries right after we found/called them, so we had a fun mid-week date night to sample pizza and get some beer.
And I went blonde-ish! 🙂
Nieceling turned 5, and I had a ridiculous amount of fun at her birthday party. We went to a bounce house and I went through the bouncy obstacle course almost the entire hour and a half we were there. Preston too…
And the kids wore themselves out a bit, too. Hahah. Those faces…
For Christmas breakfast, I made this cinnamon roll wreath from Trader Joe’s. And it was soooo good. It’s actually made out of puff pastry dough instead of normal cinnamon roll dough. Divine.
Christmas with the fam…
I ordered this old card game after Christmas. I loved it growing up and wanted to play on Christmas but we didn’t get to it. Turns out they don’t make it anymore, but I found a 1971 copy on ebay and the cards are in perfect condition! I was so excited!
We laid low for New Year’s and just had a chill evening with some friends. But I didn’t get any pics 🙁 boooo.
I did get a pic of our New Year’s breakfast. Dark chocolate Kodiak cakes mmmm.
A rare and exciting photo! Seymore refuses to sit on someone’s lap without a blanket in between human and cat. Little weirdo. This is only the third time he’s ever done it…
One day old guinea pig babies! Not ours, they belong to a friend.
We picked up my wedding band! I love it so much. This was really an accidental find, but I couldn’t get over how nicely it complements my antique engagement ring. Love love love.
P and I went out for a hike last weekend at a big recreation area. A really odd and interesting area with a big lake, loads of cows nearby, tons of wildlife. Of course, we got horribly lost and barely did any of the hike we were planning on. But we liked it so much we’re redoing it tomorrow.
I took a new lens a sweet friend got me for Christmas and got some awesome shots of some of the animals there!
On Sunday, P went skiing for the first time in awhile and came home so sore he could barely move. So we went for a soak and stretch in the hot tub. There’s something I just love about wearing sweats out to the hot tub…
It’s been raining a lot this week, so that means pupster needs his raincoat. He is such a wimp in the rain and does not like going out without his coat.
And that’s it! All the random and somewhat interesting things on my camera roll since the last time we chatted 😉
Hope you guys all have a spectacular Friday and beautiful weekend!!!
