Cherry Acai Basil Margarita

Last weekend I went through my recipe list to make sure I have a nice, well-rounded bunch of recipes for y’all, noting any oversights that I intend to remedy soon (so please let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see featured and I’ll add it to the list!)  I sure did notice a few that I’ve added to my upcoming recipe ideas.

But one gaping oversight in my recipe repertoire I had to address immediately.

TEQUILA.

There is no tequila on this site!

Until now.

Of course, this is a health food blog (usually), and I make absolutely no argument that alcohol is healthy.  (Though I can do a wondrous justification for red wine.)  So I’m adding fruit, herbs, and a superfood (and no sugar) so you can enjoy your tequila in the most natural and enjoyable of ways.

serves 4

1 C acai juice

1/4 C basil (about 15-20 leaves depending on size)
3/4 C tequila
1/4 C triple sec
5 C frozen cherries
Blend the liquid with the basil leaves first.  They seem to blend into the drink smoother that way rather than blending them with the frozen fruit too.  Then add the cherries one cup at a time until you’re done!

Drink up!

PS – do let me know if you notice any other missing puzzle pieces in my blog as drastic and important as our dear tequila!

This must be the delicousness you told me about yesterday! It looks like a smoothie, and I love my smoothies, so I’ll have to give this one a try.
