Kiwi Melon Margarita - Flora Foodie

Kiwi Melon Margarita

Getting excited for St. Patty’s Day?!

Well, I’m not.

Okay, I’m (kind of) kidding.  St. Patrick’s Day will be a fun day filled with friends, food, drinks – and my half marathon!!!  Yikes.

I had absolutely planned on posting regularly about my half-marathon training.  Which I’ve pretty much done – I mentioned my 10 mile run a few weeks ago, and I haven’t told you much else …. because there hasn’t been much else.  Ugh.
Cold rainy weather, dark skies before and after work, and the plague that I caught (aka the worst cough I’ve had in my life which for someone with asthma means nooooo running allowed!!!) led me right off my training schedule.

So I’m nervous.  To say the least.

I suppose I am also excited.  I think it’ll be really tough, maybe there will be times when I want to quit, I definitely am not going to even try for a decent pace.  But I AM going to finish my first half marathon on Sunday.  Then I’m going to join my fellow Team Veg members for a face-stuffing brunch at The Plum and for a bar crawl!

Lack of training (and the anticipation of just how sore I’ll be) aside, it’s going to be a good day.

I hope you have good plans in store for Sunday too.  Perhaps you’ll imbibe a bit?  Perhaps you want a festive green recipe to get you started?

Done.  Frozen honey dew melon, fresh kiwi, and booze!  Sound good?

serves 2
1 1/2 C frozen honey dew melon
6 fresh kiwi
3 oz tequila
2 oz triple sec

Blend everything together!

Have a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day!!!
