Welcome to the first in a new series I’m doing called Fix My Pics!
This is a long-term project I plan to work on in which I will replace some nasty, yellow, out-of-focus, poorly-cropped, can’t-believe-I-used-the-flash photos in old posts with new my-DSLR-is-so-fancy-and-now-I-know-what-kind-of-lighting-I-need pictures.
Did that make sense? Maybe only to my fellow crazies.
How bout this. This will clear it up:
I’m remaking recipes and retaking pictures so I’m not embarrassed by the gross photos in my old posts AND so that wonderful recipes that I think are truly amazing get the attention they deserve. I’m pretty sure a handful of recipes that I think are fantastic get skipped over because my pictures do not appeal. Not surprising.
So I’m going to slowly update my photos. I thought a lot about whether to do this – in a weird way I like having the old crappy pictures on my blog because it shows how far I’ve come. So at the bottom of the posts whose pictures I update, I’ll leave an ugly picture. For now. I reserve the right to change my mind on the topic seventeen times before I’m satisfied.
I’m starting with the ones that stick out in my mind. This is the first one I thought of. These pictures are horrible and it makes me incredibly sad because these fries are AWESOME.
Click here for the recipe and the original post. With updated pictures. (This is also the first time I’ve made these in my new oven and it took way longer than usual, so I updated the cook time too. Could take anywhere from 10-35 minutes depending on the oven …. weird.)
