Homemade. Vegan. Hot Cocoa. Mix.
In case you didn’t read that title and you needed to see it again!
I know, I know, it’s really not very hard to find vegan hot cocoa mix. But for me, it is just SO out of an acceptable price range. You’re lucky if you pay less than $2.00 a serving for store bought vegan cocoa mix. Which, I admit, is not terrible.
But for me, in my pre-vegan days, hot cocoa mix was not a fancy gourmet treat to be savored and spared. It was a treat that was dirt cheap that you could mix up in a matter of minutes with little to no flair, and sip away until it was cool enough to gulp down the last half of the mug while watching trashy TV and waiting for the warmth to take you over.
See the difference? Am I the only one?
So I wanted to make my own. It is REALLY affordable. It is spectacularly easy to mix up a mug full. It is a piece of cake to mix up a huge batch of this mix. I am mad proud of this easy little combo – it tastes a lot like I remember packaged hot cocoa but a teeny bit richer, in a great way!
Plus how cute is that mug? It was my Valentine’s Day “card” from Preston. 🙂
The only hard part might be finding powdered soy milk (or another non-dairy powdered milk, I am pretty sure you can buy several options), but I found mine here and I am very happy with that website and the soy milk itself.
Enough blabbering, time for the recipe for this homemade vegan hot cocoa mix, eh?
