Pumpkin Spice Beer Bread

pumpkin spice beer bread

HELLO FRIENDS! You guys are going to LOVE this pumpkin spice beer bread recipe. Aside from the fact that it’s awesome, it’s actually such a super simple cheat recipe. It’s a Trader Joe’s hack!!!

Maybe that should be a blog series, huh? {wheels are turning……}

This is actually NOT the recipe that I had planned for my final pumpkin recipe. That one needs a touch of tweaking, but I still hope to post it by the end of fall. But this is the last of the pumpkin/squash streak I promised!

I’m super happy with this because it was one of those recipe ideas that came to me while unpacking groceries. So I got right to it and tested it, and it turned out perfectly.

From idea to finished product in less than a few hours.

Also, it doesn’t hurt that it takes five ingredients to make this, all of which are from Trader Joe’s. But you can find these ingredients at any major market so no worries for those of you not near a beloved TJ’s!

Obviously, one of the ingredients is beer. I’m sure anything you love and use will be yummy, BUT I’m newly obsessed with KBC’s pumpkin ale. It tastes more like actual pumpkin than any other pumpkin beer I’ve ever had. It’s perfect for a pumpkin beer bread.

Ingredients
  1. 1 box beer bread mix
  2. 1 bottle pumpkin beer
  3. 4 t pumpkin spice seasoning (*I’d make sure you get the kind with actual pumpkin flavor in it instead of just spices, so your bread tastes even more pumpkin-like)
  4. 1/2 stick butter (or whatever ingredients your beer bread box call for)
  5. 2 T pumpkin butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread mix, beer, and pumpkin spice seasoning until well combined. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Slather the pumpkin butter on top of the batter and then swirl and even gently fold with a butter knife. You want to make a little pumpkin butter pattern in the top inch or so of batter.
  2. Pour melted butter over the top and bake for 50-55 minutes.

You can go sweet or savory with this awesome loaf. It’s also absolutely perfect toasted and dipped in some squash soup. OR you could get a little crazy and turn into dessert. Just crisp it in some melted butter in a skillet, then top with pumpkin ice cream. 😉 That MAY have been my dessert for tonight while crying over the debate. Shhhhh….
