I don’t know if it’s my general mood lately, or springtime, or WHAT. But it feels like every restaurant or bar I go to has an exceptional list of cocktails. I keep taking pictures of entire menus so I can start recreating some things at home.
Maybe Sacramento is upping its craft cocktail game? (I already thought it was pretty impressive…)
A couple weekends ago, I spotted a cocktail that I had all the ingredients for at home – including Absolut PEAR vodka, which is amazing! I first tried pear vodka on our Palm Springs trip last year when I was extra indecisive and a super patient bartender took pity on me.
It was amazing. And I finally bought it just a couple months ago. I’ve only used it for vodka sodas (sometimes I get *creative* and add lime juice)
But THEN I saw this cocktail on a menu for a way more elaborate way to use it. So after my friends and I left that bar, we naturally went to my house so I could test it out.
It’s the kind of cocktail where each ingredient is so good, I don’t really think you could go wrong with the measurements. Strawberries, pear vodka, and St. Germain?
I just threw a bit of each into a glass and it’s delightful. I also tried some watermelon syrup in them, which was divine.
Seriously.
Can’t go wrong.
So here’s to FRIDAY! A fantastic strawberry pear fizz cocktail.
