YOU GUYS! It’s the best drink of the season.
I’m serious.
This mulled apple cider wine has quickly become my go-to cocktail for the cold season. I have mentioned it a bunch so I’m sorry if this is redundant, but I’m back with the recipe!
I went to Apple Hill in October and had this fantastic concoction. Apple wine + apple cider + mulling spices, heated up and SO GOOD.
I loved it so much I bought all the supplies at the orchard where I tried it. But of course that didn’t last long, and then I was left without apple wine! So I took it upon myself to test a BUNCH of cheap white wines from Trader Joe’s until I found one that works just as well.
Great news: this $4 bottle of wine is phenomenal in this cocktail. Less than $10 gets you TWELVE yummy servings of this cocktail. (So it’s basically perfection for all your holiday parties.)
So here’s the recipe! I hope you guys love it as much as I do.
- 1/2 gallon apple cider
- 1 bottle Blue Fin Moscato (or better yet APPLE WINE if you can find it)
- 1 teaspoon dried mulling spices
- Pour everything into a large saucepan and heat over medium heat and bring to a very light simmer. Turn the heat to low and let it simmer 10 minutes. Remove the mulling spices.
- You can substitute dried mulling spices for a fresh orange peel, some cinnamon sticks, and any other favorite warm spices.
Have a LOVELY evening, y’all! And let me know if you try this and how it goes!
