Chocolate Chai Protein Shake

Got a quick fantastic drink for you today!  I have been working on my own healthier vegan version of a Wendy’s frosty — this is not that recipe, it still needs to be perfected — but I’ve been going through some chocolate almond milk ice cubes in those recipe trials.

I’m also adding them to desserts and smoothies left and right.  So yummy!

This morning I was starving for breakfast, but also in a cranky mood where nothing healthy seemed appealing to me.  This is the compromise I made myself – a filling, nutritious, protein-packed dessert-like shake.

It is cooling and soothing and comforting, and I hope you like it!

serves 1
1 C frozen chocolate almond milk ice cubes
1 C unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 t vanilla extract
1 packet (or scoop) Vega One Vanilla Chai nutritional shake

Blend everything together!

Slurp slurp slurp.

I will definitely try this recipe but I will use my own brand of whey protein powder. The combination of chocolate and whey is really good especially that chocolate removes the aftertaste of whey protein.
