Blackberry Kiwi Smoothie

Good morning, internet friends! I am up and at it early this beautiful Saturday morning because I am getting ready to head out to El Dorado County for some wine tasting with my friends who are visiting from LA. I am so excited to see my friends and spend the whole day with them, and I cannot believe it but I have not been wine tasting in El Dorado County yet, even though it’s not even an hour away from me!

I’ve got scones in the oven to serve them, so I’m starting with a nutrition-packed smoothie in the hopes that it will help my poor liver out today 😉 Just kidding. But I have a feeling this could turn out to be a fairly unhealthy day, so I’m starting it out right.

serves 2
3/4 C frozen blackberries
3/4 C frozen kiwis
1 1/2 C unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 1/2 C spinach
juice and zest of 1 lime
1 frozen banana
1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Blend everything together! I like to blend the almond milk with the spinach first to get the spinach really well incorporated, and then add everything else.

Annnnnd I’m off!
