Did you know that CANDY CANES DISSOLVE IN VODKA???
That’s pretty much the point of this whole post. So…. there ya go 😉
Told you some of my Blogmas posts would be super short haha.
Nah but seriously. It’s so fun to make cocktails with infused vodkas. For awhile I was experimenting with a bunch of flavored vodkas. And I figured it would be fun to make a peppermint vodka for the holidays, so I threw some candy canes in vodka to infuse the flavor.
Not even an hour later, I had BRIGHT PINK VODKA and no trace of candy canes. They completely dissolved, and the result is this fantastic vodka that’s something between vodka and liqueur. SO GOOD.
This homemade candy cane vodka is probably the best non-recipe recipe I’ve ever posted.
So here’s how: in a glass container, add three candy canes to one 750ml bottle of vodka. Wait 30-60 minutes until totally dissolved.
That’s it.
I highly recommend it in hot cocoa. THE BEST. I honestly drink it in cocoa 95% of the time, but it’s also good over ice as dessert, turned into a martini, or drizzled over some ice cream (bonus points if it’s an affogato.)
It also makes a fantastic holiday gift. Put it in a pretty bottle, tie a bow around it, and you’re set. Or you can put it in a basket with some cute mugs and a homemade vegan hot cocoa mix.
How’s that for an easy recipe?
Let me know if you’re interested in some more homemade holiday gifts! I have a little roundup of gifts I’m making or hoping to try in the future that I can share!
Happy Monday, loves. 😘
