I bring to you awesome dessert popcorn! Yay!
Growing up, I had a friend whose mom would make us popcorn for dessert with melted white chocolate drizzled over it. It was shockingly good.
I completely intend on figuring out how to make vegan white chocolate since it’s so hard to find.
But until that day comes, how ’bout a version with dark chocolate, eh?!
Yes.
Plus spices, Mexican chocolate style?
Yes yes yes.
The perfect light dessert to munch on in front of a movie is born!
serves 2
4 C air-popped popcorn (about 1/2 C kernels before popped)
1 t ground cinnamon
1/4 C dark chocolate chips
1/8 t ground cayenne
Pop your popcorn. For a guide on how to microwave popcorn without microwavable popcorn, check out my little tutorial here.
Cover the popcorn with the ground cinnamon and toss until it’s coated.
Then melt the dark chocolate chips – you can do it in the microwave (or in a teeny double boiler if you have such a thing.) Stir the cayenne into the melted chocolate.
Drizzle over popcorn. I recommend using a fork or spook (I used a grapefruit spoon, which was perfect!)
You can eat it with the messy melty chocolate or let it harden a little. Either way is spectacularly awesome. Though good luck with having enough self control to let it harden.
